Tata Motors Appoint Former Airbus COO Gunter Butschek As New CEO And MD

Tata Motors have appointed former Airbus Chief Operating Officer (COO) Gunter Butschek as their new Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for local operations.

New CEO and MD, Gunter Butschek will be responsible for only the Indian operations of Tata Motors, with Jaguar Land Rover continuing to be managed by its Chief Executive Officer and Director, Dr Ralf Speth. Mr. Butschek is expected to start work on February 15, 2016.

Butschek worked at Airbus for almost four years, and was COO of the aircraft manufacturer for two and a half years. Before working at Airbus Butschek worked with Mercedes-Benz for 25 years.
