Tata Kite 5: Tiago Compact Sedan Production Version Spotted
Tata Kite 5 was recently showcased at the recently held Auto Expo 2014 in Delhi, it raised quite stir with its design from the rear profile. Now the production version has been spotted on the road.
From the images we see the Tata Kite 5, is more or less the same as it was showcased at the Auto Expo 2014. The specification of the Tata Kite 5 is expected to be a sub-four meter compact sedan and will replace the aging Indigo eCS.
On the design front, it is built on the Tata Tiago platform and looks very much the same with a little bit of tweak on the front grille and addition of the boot. Talking about the boot of the Tata Kite 5, this is very much different from the sub-four compact sedan we have seen in India.

The rear profile of the Tata Kite 5 or the Tiago compact sedan looks like one from the GT lineage even though this falls under the category of the sub-four meter sedan. The tiny lip spoiler makes the car look sportier.
Also, the Kite 5 seems to be designed based on European designing style and looks very good in terms of detailing. Tata has been careful about the development of the car as there has been a decline in the sales number and market share has dipped.
Tata Motors will look to position the Kite 5 is the best pricing like how they have priced the Tata Tiago. The Kite 5 will feature the same engine specs as the Tiago which is the Revotron for petrol and Revotorq for the diesel engine. However, it will be re-tuned to match the sub-compact sedan chassis.
