Tata Has Been Spied Testing A Close To Production Kite 5 Compact Sedan
Tata Motors plan on introducing several new automobiles for the Indian market. At the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi, Tata showcased the Kite 5 compact sedan. Here is a close to production ready image of the Tata Kite 5 spied testing with heavy camouflage.
Previously, Tata Motors planned on launching the Kite 5 during the 2016 festive season. It is now confirmed that Tata Hexa will be launched soon and the Kite 5 launch has been postponed. The Kite 5 compact sedan is now expected to launch in India sometime during early 2017.
From the spy image, we can notice that Tata has not deviated from its design showcased at the Auto Expo. The Kite 5 maintains its unique rear sloping window for a compact sedan. Nothing much has changed and Tata is perhaps testing the handling and behaviour of the vehicle.
Under the hood of the Tata Kite 5 will be a 1.05-litre three-cylinder diesel engine. Customers will also be offered an optional 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine. These are the same engine options that are available in Tata's Tiago model launched during this year.
All features provided in the Tata Tiago will be available in the Kite 5 compact sedan. Tata Motors could also provide a touchscreen entertainment system. Several other additional creature comforts would add more value to the Kite 5, which is already shaping up to be an interesting offering.
