Spy Pics: Tata Kite 5 Compact Sedan Spied
Tata Motors showcased several new products at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. Out of all the models revealed, the Kite 5 compact sedan will be the first to launch in the country. Now, the Kite 5 compact sedan was caught testing and the spy images reveal its headlights and tail lamps.
The Kite 5 compact sedan is based on Tata Tiago hatchback. Several design elements will be shared between models. The only difference between both models will be the arched boot on the Kite 5. From what we see, Tata will use the same headlights and tail lamps on the new compact sedan.
Amongst rival compact sedans, Tata Kite 5 will have the biggest boot space. The Kite 5 will boast of approximately 420 litres of boot space, which will be sufficient for a family of four.
Under the hood of Tata Kite 5, will be the standard engines that do duty in the Tiago. Customers will have the option to choose between the 1.2-litre petrol engine and the 1.05-litre diesel engine. Both engines will be equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission and an AMT could feature later on.
Tata Motors is most likely to launch the Kite 5 compact sedan during the 2016 festive season. At this moment, Tata has the Zest on sale in India, however, the compact sedan sales did not take off as expected.
