Tata Could Halt Production Of Bolt Hatchback Owing To Poor Sales
Tata Motors launched the Bolt hatchback in the Indian market a while ago. Unfortunately, the hatchback failed to impress buyers across the country. The Bolt was designed and developed to change the brand image and philosophy.
Now there are possibilities that the production of the Bolt hatchback could be halted. Dwindling sales is the major concern for Tata Motors management. Success witnessed by other Tata products need the additional production workforce to keep up with demands.
The Bolt and Zest are based on the same platform by Tata Motors. The automobile manufacturer offers a hatchback and compact sedan model on a common platform. Both models were based on the HORIZONEXT philosophy.
Recently, Tata Motors launched the Tiago hatchback in the Indian market. The Tiago has received an overwhelming response in the country. Over 40,000 bookings have been registered and Tata Motors is clocking 5,000 monthly sales on an average.
Very soon, Tata Motors will be introducing the Kite 5 compact sedan. The Tata Kite 5 is based on the same platform utilised by the Tiago hatchback. Several other new products will also be introduced by Tata Motors, which spell the end of production of Bolt hatchback and other models, not faring well.
