Tamilnadu Govt. Ready To Ban The Usage Of Air Horns
The bench has directed the authorities to ensure total ban on use of horn type loudspeakers and amplifiers and air horns of automobiles.
The Tamil Nadu government informed the Madras High Court that it will issue a government order within 15 days to impose strict conditions for issue a total ban on the use of air horns of automobiles.
The submissions were made to the court on a Public-Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking a direction to the state government and police to strictly implement a Supreme Court order dated August 18, 2005, banning the use of high-decibel speakers.
The bench has directed the authorities to ensure total ban on use of horn type loudspeakers and amplifiers and air horns of automobiles.
According to the reports by authorities, a total of 111 cases has been registered in violation of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, during the period between September 20 to November 18, 2016.
