Spy Pics: Jeep Renegade Spotted Testing Once Again
American SUV manufacturer Jeep has finally entered India. On August 30, Jeep launched the Grand Cherokee and the Wrangler in India at Jodhpur's Umaid Bhavan palace.
However, one Jeep SUV that didn't make its way onto the stage was the Renegade and that could very well be because the SUV is still being tested on Indian roads, as spy images captured in India's IT capital prove.
Jeep's smallest SUV still spotted a heavy camouflage but most of the Renegade's design cues can be easily found on the test mule.
On the whole, the test mule maintains the same boxy SUV shape as the Renegade sold abroad. Up front, Jeep's signature multi-slat grille is quite visible as are the round headlamps. Underneath the grille sits a chunky bumper which houses a large air dam in the centre along with fog lamps on either side.
The sides of the car look quite boxy and the pumped up wheel arches. The Renegade mule sat on 10-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, the taillamps look quite small and insignificant compared to the rest of the rear end which features a large bumper and a roof spoiler.
While the Jeep Renegade in international markets sports a 1.4-litre and 2.4-litre diesel engines, the Renegade mules imported into India feature a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine.
The Renegade is expected to launch in India quite soon and it is expected to be the least expensive Jeep sold in the Indian market.
