New Smaller Jeep Will Be Slotted Above EcoSport: Mike Manley
Jeep Global Head Mike Manley stated that the new smaller Jeep will be slotted above the Ford EcoSport.
Jeep Global Head Chief Operating Officer for Asia Pacific at Fiat Chrysler, Mike Manley stated that the new compact Jeep SUV will be slotted above Ford EcoSport in the Indian market.
Manley was addressing the Indian media on the sidelines of the LA Auto Show. He also spoke about the soon to be launched Jeep Compass.
He stated that Compass is a special model as it is one of the four global vehicles for the company and it will open number of markets worldwide.
He believed that Jeep can perform very well in the Indian market. Although it is a price sensitive market, Manley said that market responds well to new launches and new technologies.
Speaking about the next small Jeep, he said that compact SUV will be below Renegade and it will be slotted above the Ford EcoSport. It will be a sub-four metre SUV as far as regulations are concerned.
He also stated that their relationship with Tata Motors is good. The company needs more volume out of Ranjangaon plant and after the launch of Compass he expected to achieve those volumes and Jeep will be open to discussions with Tata Motors for more opportunities.
He said that Jeep Compass will certainly help FCA to progress towards the two million unit mark. Regarding the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler in India, he said that the company got some questions on the pricing of the vehicle.
