Skoda Suspends Sales Of Diesel Rapid With Manual Gearbox
Skoda has suspended sales of the diesel engined Rapid which uses the five-speed manual gearbox.
The decision by Skoda to suspends sales of the diesel powered Rapid sedan with a manual transmission comes after parent company Volkswagen suspended sales and recalled 3,877 units of the Vento sedan which uses the same engine and gearbox combination.
The VW Vento was recalled after the ARAI found that it had been exceeding the limit for Carbon Monoxide (CO) emissions. Volkswagen issued a recall and stopped sales until a fix can be found.
Skoda has not stopped sales of the diesel Rapid which uses the DSG automatic gearbox and has only stopped sales of the manual transmission diesel Rapid as a precautionary measure as the vehicle hasn't exceeded CO emission levels.
