2016 Skoda Rapid Launched In India; Prices Start At Rs. 8.34 Lakh
Skoda has launched the new Rapid sedan in India, five years after the Rapid was first launched in 2011.
Czech carmaker Skoda has launched the facelifted Rapid sedan in India.
Prices for the new Skoda Rapid start at Rs. 8.27 lakh ex-showroom (Mumbai) for the petrol variants and 9.57 lakh ex-showroom (Mumbai) for the diesel variants.

Skoda Rapid (Diesel) Price List
The new Skoda Rapid is available with two engine options a 1.6-litre petrol and 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine from the new Ameo.
The 1.6-litre petrol engine produces 103bhp and 153Nm of torque. The engine is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox with manual shifting options which send the power and torque to the front wheels.
The petrol engine returns a mileage of 15.41km/l with the manual gearbox and 14.84km/l with the automatic gearbox.
The 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine produces 108.6bhp and 250Nm of torque which is sent to the front wheels through either a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
The diesel powered Rapid returns a mileage of 21.13km/l with the manual and 21.72km/l when paired to the automatic gearbox.
Design wise, the new Rapid features a brand new grille which brings it more in line with its larger sibling, the Octavia and the Superb. The butterfly grille is flanked by angular headlamps with LED daytime running lights. The front bumper also features a more angular look.
The rear end of the car remains the same as the current car but has new smoked out tail-lamps.

Inside, the Rapid features a more spacious interior with dual tone upholstery which gives it a more premium feel.
The centre console features the 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with MirrorLink system infotainment display along with the controls for the dual-zone climate control system.
All the knobs, buttons on the dashboard along with the inserts for the air conditioning vents feature chrome and add a more luxurious look to the new Rapid.
The new Skoda Rapid comes with a whole host of safety features including multiple airbag, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Hold control, automatic dimming rear view mirror, and rear parking sensors.
