The Octavia sedan by Skoda is their most popular around the globe. Now the Czech manufacturer confirms that they have manufactured over one million Octavia models. This milestone has been achieved with the third generation model of Skoda's Octavia.
Very first Octavia by Skoda was manufactured back in 1996. Since its initial launch, the Czech manufacturer has sold over five million units of its Octavia model across the world. Production of the third generation Skoda Octavia began in 2013 and has soon raced to one million models produced.
Currently, Skoda utilises VW Group's MQB platform for its third-generation Octavia. This platform is shared between the Audi A3, Volkswagen Golf, and Skoda's Octavia. At this moment, Skoda manufacturers its vehicles in the Czech republic as well as in India, Kazakhstan, Russia, and China.
The Octavia is also sold in the Indian market, alongside Skoda's Rapid, Superb, and Yeti models. Skoda offers its Octavia with both petrol as well as diesel engine options with manual and automatic transmissions. The base model of Octavia costs Rs. 16.58 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
