Skoda Octavia Facelift Revealed — New Top Form

On the changes, the new 2016 Skoda Octavia features a newly designed front and rear profile. The headlight has a split design which is similar to the earlier E Class. The designers have tweaked the front grille as well.

The tweaked front grille and the bumper are the main noticeable design change giving the 2016 Octavia a fresh approach.

The company has also given full LED headlight and it replaces the bi-xenon seen in the earlier Skoda Octavia. The lines on the new 2016 Octavia have been further streamlined and the frontlooks wider and withlots of character.

On the revised Octavia, Skoda claims cabin space is the best in class with better leg room in the rear passenger seats. The boot has a total space of 610-litres and 1,740-litres when you tumble the rear seats.

You even get an electric tailgate which is available in the Octavia COMBI. On the inside, we see a new infotainment system with 9.2-inch touch screen display and is featured with WLAN hotspot and if desired a SIM card module with an LTE speed for faster internet connection.

As for the driver assistance, Skoda has equipped the 2016 Octavia with technologies such as trailer assist - a technology used when the Octavia is used as atowing vehicle, the trailer assistant will take over the steering when the vehicle is slowly reversing.

Also seen are the predictive pedestrian protection which compliments the Front Assist. There is even the rear radar to detect Blind Spot, Rear Traffic Alert which ensures safe lane changes and while reversing the car.

You also have a customizable key which allows multiple persons to save their own vehicle settings, which includes heated steering wheel, folding tables on the back of the front seats, bottle holders which helps the opening of PET bottles.

The estate version of the 2016 Skoda Octavia also features a removable torch in the boot.

As for the powertrains of the 2016 Skoda Octavia, there are five TSI and four TDI, if that is not enough for a choice. The displacements range from 1.0-litre to 2.0-litre engines.

The power ranges from 85bhp to 181bhp and Skoda says for almost all engines in the revised Octavia will receive either with a 6- or 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox in addition to the manual gearbox.

Skoda will supply the all-wheel drive for the 1.8-litre TSI and the 2.0-litre TDI engine models. A highlight on the chassis is the optional Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) which enables the driver to regulate the steering and damping characteristics in Comfort, Normal and Sport modes.

The alloy wheels on the new 2016 Skoda Octavia will range from 16 to 18 inches and will be offered with various new designs.
