Skoda Auto has confirmed that its upcoming SUV will be christened as the 'Kodiaq'. They have revealed the badge and have also confirmed the 4x4 drive system. An all-new SUV campaign with the introduction of their upcoming global product will be revealed soon.
The Kodiaq SUV from Skoda is expected to make its global debut sometime during 2016-end. Skoda, however, will be introducing it's all-new SUV in several international markets by early 2017. India is also on the list to receive the all-new Skoda Kodiaq SUV within the next year.
So far, Skoda Auto has not revealed the engine details of their Kodiaq. The Czech manufacturer is most likely to offer both petrol as well as diesel engine options in its all-new SUV. Skoda Kodiaq will be a seven seater and will be equipped with several creature comforts.
Kodiaq name is derived from the Kodiak Island and the bears that live on the island. The conditions on the island are extreme and harsh, Skoda wants to showcase that its SUV can survive the harshest of conditions. Muscular design provides the Kodiaq with a robust persona just like the Kodiaq bears.
Czech-based automobile manufacturer will be launching the Kodiaq in India as well. Once launched in India, Skoda Kodiaq will compete with Toyota Fortuner, Chevrolet Trailblazer, and Ford Endeavour. We can expect the Kodiaq to launch in the Indian market sometime during 2017.
