Sauber has made a major pick in Formula One, by hiring a new race engineer, who before worked with Toro Rosso driver Max Verstappen. The Swiss Team has signed Xevi Pujolar, as Sauber's new head for track engineering.
Pujolar, had previously worked with HRT, Jaguar and Williams. His exit from Toro Rosso in May, has been said as a 'bitter-end' to the story. Before being promoted as chief race engineer, Pujolar had worked with Bruno Senna at Hispania and Pastor Maldonado at Williams.
Pujolar made his move to Toro Rosso in 2013. Now, the Spaniard race engineer has joined hands with Sauber. On the other hand, Sauber has failed to score a point in current constructors championship. By this move, Sauber will be hoping for improvements.
The announcement of hiring came this week, when all the teams are busy preparing for next round in Belgium. Pujolar had been working at the Sauber factory in Hinwill, since the summer break. Sauber stated that Singapore will be Pujolar's first race, as head race engineer.
