Nico Rosberg has extended his Championship lead by 36 points ahead of teammate and rival Lewis Hamilton. The 2016 Chinese GP was an eventful race weekend with unexpected surprises. After a really long time there was genuine urgency and overtaking among top drivers.
Hamilton had a monumental task ahead of him as he started the race from the last position. The British driver did not have much luck as his front nose was clipped off at turn one. Eventually, a safety car was called out on track to clear debris, thus bringing several drivers back into contention.
The two Ferrari's also crashed into each other ruining their final outcome as both Vettel and Raikkonen had to change their car noses. Surprisingly, both the Ferrari drivers continued to look strong during the race and created several overtakes to finish second and fifth position in an eventful GP.
Red Bull Racing was surprised by their final result. Daniil Kvyat finished third while teammate Daniel Ricciardo crossed the finish line in fourth. Both drivers have found some extra grunt in their Tag Heuer branded Renault engine.
Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button made huge improvements at the Chinese GP. McLaren-Honda has clawed their way back up and managed to secure 12th and 13th places. We could witness better results at the upcoming races with further vehicle updates.
