Renault Adds Third Shift To Chennai Factory To Increase Production Of Kwid

The Renault-Nissan alliance is adding a third shift for its Chennai plant to help increase the production of Renault cars in India especially the popular Kwid.
According to ETAuto, sources have stated that work on the third shift will start in April and 450 people were being hired to work the shift.
The Renault Nissan plant currently rolls out 1,000 cars a day which will increase o around 1,600 cars a day once the new shift starts on April 1.
Most of the increased numbers will be Renault Kwid as Renault aims to ramps up production of the Kiwd to 10,000 units a months to deal with the long waiting period for the hugely popular car. The waiting period for a new Kwid is 6 months.
