Renault Nissan Delivers Annual Synergy Target One Year Ahead Of Schedule

The Renault-Nissan Alliance has successfully generated 4.3 billion Euros in synergies during 2015, which is one year ahead ahead of schedule and 13 percent more than the year 2014. The main contributors were purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing.

Renault and Nissan generate 'Synergies' by working together to reduce costs, avoid spending, and increase revenue, and only new synergies are taken into account every year. The synergies help Renault Nissan meet financial goals and deliver good vehicles to customers.

Renault-Nissan Alliance sells 10 cars globally and converged four key functions in 2014. The four key functions are:

  • Engineering
  • Manufacturing Engineering & Supply Chain Management
  • Purchasing
  • Human Resources

Commenting on the occasion, Carlos Ghosn, the CEO of Renault Nissan Alliance said, "Convergence in four of our key business functions has resulted in creating value by reducing costs, avoiding expenses and increasing revenues. Thanks to the convergence, the Alliance expects to generate at least €5.5 billion in synergies in 2018."
