Renault India had showcased its all-new Kwid with a 1.0-litre engine and AMT, at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. Ever since then, Renault fans and enthusiasts are awaiting the launch of the highly anticipated Kwid variant for the Indian market.
Now the Renault Kwid with Easy-R badge was caught testing in Chennai. The Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) is gaining popularity among Indian vehicle buyers. Vehicles with an AMT system offer drivers an ease of driving through growing traffic conditions.
Once the Renault Kwid East-R trim is launched in the India market, it will compete head on with segment leader, Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 with AMT option. Both the Kwid and Alto K10 models are high volume sellers in the Indian market and are huge rivals.
The introduction of Kwid Easy-R variant is expected to boost sales further and could possibly make it the market leader. Currently, there is a long waiting period for the Kwid in India. Renault India has three shifts working round the clock to bring down waiting period and provide customers with their desired variant as soon as possible.
French-based manufacturer will be eliminating the gear lever and providing an SCe (Smart Control Efficiency) system. The vehicle will have three driving modes on the dashboard. Options like Drive, Neutral, and Reverse will be the only options available in the Kwid Easy-R trim level.
