Rumour: Renault Kwid AMT Model Prices To Start From Rs 4.29 Lakh
Renault has teased the upcoming automatic model of the Kwid with a unique rotary knob, now rumours are rife about the price of the Kwid AMT
After launching the 800cc Kwid, which went on to become the best-selling small entry level hatchback, Renault launched the 1.0-litre model.
Now the French automaker is getting ready to launch the Automatic Manual Transmission (AMT) variant of the Kwid. And as per rumors, the prices are expected to start from Rs 4.29 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
Renault had recently teased the Kwid AMT with an image of the rotary knob as the gear selector increasing the hype around the launch of the automatic version of the Kwid.
The company will offer the Kwid AMT in the 1.0-litre guise and on the top of the variant models.
Renault launched the 1.0-litre three cylinder SCe petrol in August 2016 and this will be equipped with the AMT option.
The engine of the 1.0-litre Kwid churns out 67bhp and 91Nm of torque. As for the variant of the Kwid AMT, this will be available on the RXT and RXT (O).
Renault has termed the rotary knob AMT as the Easy-R, this was revealed during this year's Auto Expo in Delhi.
While the Kwid AMT RXT will be priced at Rs 4.29 lakh, the RXT (O) - which comes with option of driver's airbag - will be priced at Rs 4.42 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
Hence, the Kwid AMT will cost nearly Rs 46,000 more than the manual gearbox model. The bookings of the Renault Kwid AMT has already begun across dealers in the country.
Dealers of Renault are taking a booking amount of Rs 10,000 for the Kwid AMT and the launch is expected to be around the second week of November.
