Renault has already teased the new Kwid Automatic Manual Transmission (AMT) model revealing the unique rotary dial used to shift gears. The French car maker refers to the rotary dial as Easy-R, which is features on the Duster compact SUV as well.
Now, official brochures of the new model of the Kwid AMT have emerged online providing details of the small hatchback. The mileage of the Renault Kwid AMT is 24.04km/l and is higher than its manual variant of 23.01 km/l.
Also, the Renault Kwid AMT will be offered in the 1.0-litre engine variant and will be available at the RxT (O) trim only.
Like the Kwid 800cc model, design wise, the Kwid AMT will be the same except that it will come with the chequered flag decals on the side panels of the door.
The Kwid AMT's rotary dial will offer three driving modes - Reverse, Neutral and Drive. Unlike the current AMT cars which is equipped with a gear shift lever, the Kwid AMT will come with the rotary dial or knob.
Since the Kwid AMT will be offered in the RxT(O) trim, the small hatchback will continue to feature Touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, USB, Bluetooth audio streaming and aux.
Also featured are the remote keyless entry with central locking, front power windows, foldable backrest and passenger side ORVMs.
Dealers have started to take bookings for the AMT version of the Renault Kwid and the delivery is expected to begin from mid-November.
If rumors are to be believed, then the price of the new Kwid AMT will be Rs 4.29 lakh ex-showroom.
Once launched, the Renault Kwid AMT will rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 AMT and the Maruti Suzuki Celerio AMT in India.
