Renault Kwid AMT Launched In India; Priced At Rs. 4.25 Lakh
Renault has launched the AMT variant of the Kwid in India with the first in segment Shift Control AMT Dial instead of a normal gearstick.
French carmaker Renault has launched the all-new Kwid AMT in India. The AMT variant of the Kwid hatchback is priced at Rs. 4.25 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
The new AMT variant of the Kwid is available only with the 1.0-litre engine option that was launched earlier in the year and costs just Rs. 30,000 more than the Kwid 1-litre that uses the manual gearbox.
The 999cc three-cylinder engine produces 67bhp and 91 Nm of torque while returning a mileage of 24.04km/l when paired with the new AMT gearbox.
However, what makes the new Kwid AMT different from the rest of the AMT crowd is the fact that unlike conventional gearboxes, there is no gearstick to operate the AMT instead, the Kwid uses the Shift Control Dial with three modes - Reverse, Neutral, and Drive - which is mounted below the infotainment system on the centre console to send the power to the front wheels.
The Kwid AMT is 3,679mm long, 1,579mm wide and 1,478mm tall. The AMT variant of the Renault Kwid has a 2,422mm long wheelbase and has a ground clearance of 180mm.
The Kwid AMT's boot has 300 litres of luggage space, which can be expanded to 1,115 litres by pushing the rear seats down. The fuel tank of the Kwid AMT can hold 28 litres of petrol.
Renault has loaded the Kwid AMT with tech including a touchscreen infotainment system that has bluetooth connectivity and satellite navigation.
Safety features include a driver's side airbag and a for the first time in the segment - seatbelt pre-tensioners with load limiters.
The Renault KWID AMT will be available in the top-end RXT variant with five colour options- Fiery Red, Ice Cool White, Moon Light Silver, Outback Bronze and Planet Grey.
