The Renault Kwid AMT will come in the next couple of months during the festival season in India. The details of the AMT gear selector features has not been revealed by Renault as of now.
Renault showcased the Kwid AMT in the 2016 Auto Expo held in Delhi. The showcased Kwid AMT comes with an intriguing gear selecting rotary dial placed in the centre console branded as 'Easy-R'.
Renault says the 'Easy-R' technology was developed with the expertise of the Renault F1 team. What is so exciting about the rotary dial is that it has been seen in the luxury cars, and this will be the first time a small car will feature this.
The 1.0-litre three-cylinder, SCe petrol engine of the Renault Kwid produces 67bhp and 91Nm of torque. The mileage figures have been revealed at 23.1kmpl which is one of the top petrol cars with better mileage, the AMT variant could throw up the same results.
Renault claims the new Kwid will come with crawl function which helps the car move forward or reverse slowly without throttle input. The AMT rotary dial gear selector comes with Drive, Reverse, and Neutral mode.
Once launched, the Renault Kwid AMT will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 AGS and will be priced in the range of Rs. 4 - 5 lakh.
Also, seen on the Kwid is the 7-inch MEDIANAV touchscreen infotainment system, front power windows, and lots more. Pricing of the Kwid AMT by Renault will determine the competitiveness of the car.
