Renault To Launch Kwid 1.0-Litre (AMT) In India: More Details
Renault is all set to launch the 1.0-litre version of its best-selling Kwid this month. Currently, the French auto major is selling the 800cc engine for the Kwid and is looking to capture 5 percent market share.
Renault will offer the Kwid 1.0-litre with the choice of manual and AMT gearbox. Renault calls it the Easy-R gearshift which has been developed with its F1 team and expertise.
This 1.0-litre Renault Kwid will compete with the Maruti Alto K10 which is priced in the range of Rs. 3.25 lakh to Rs. 4.15 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). We expect the 1.0-litre Kwid to be competitively priced in this bracket.
Since the launch of the Kwid, it has managed to sell 75,000 units till date. Renault India Operations Country CEO & Managing Director Sumit Sawhney said, "The Kiwd has been widely accepted in the Indian market and we are ready to enhance our offering under the model range by launching a 1-litre engine version this month."
"With the launch of the 1-litre Kwid, we will be further enhancing our offering in the segment and serve customers who are looking for a more powerful vehicle in the entry-level segment," Sawhney added.
