Renault Kwid 1.0-Litre Engine & AMT Launching Prior To Diwali
Renault showcased its Kwid compact hatchback with AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. The French manufacturer will now introduce an optional AMT and a 1.0-litre engine in the country prior to Diwali.
Previously, the Kwid by Renault was offered with an 800cc inline three-cylinder, petrol engine. The Kwid is one of the most popular vehicles from Renault stables in the Indian market. With the addition of an AMT and an all-new 1.0-litre engine, Renault will offer more value to its customers.
The 1.0-litre petrol engine will be tuned to develop approximately 67bhp. Renault engineers will pair their new engine to a 5-speed manual transmission. Luckily the AMT will be provided as an option on both the 800cc and 1.0-litre engines in the Kwid.
No changes will be made to the exterior design of the new models. Renault will only be providing its Kwid with an AMT and a 1.0-ltre badge to differentiate its models. The 1.0-litre models could get different colours as well to separate itself from the previous models.
Dual airbags, ABS, and EBD will be offered as an option on the Kwid. In terms of pricing the new Renault Kwid with 1.0-litre engine and AMT will cost more. Once launched the new Kwid will take on the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 with AMT option.
