Renault Registers Impressive Bookings Figure For Its Kwid
Renault India has witnessed an overwhelming response for its most affordable product since it was launched. The Kwid has now received over 1.5 lakh tentative bookings from the time it was introduced in the domestic market.
The entry level segment is a great volume driver in terms of sales for several manufacturers. Renault Kwid has gained popularity owing to its unique and fresh design philosophy over competitors. The Kwid is a small car with SUV-like design language that has attracted most buyers.
Under the hood of Renault Kwid is a 0.8-litre (800cc) three-cylinder petrol engine. The engine will produce 53bhp, along with 72Nm of peak torque. Renault engineers have mated the engine to a 5-speed manual gearbox and is capable of achieving a fuel efficiency of 25.17 km/l.

Very soon, Renault India will be offering its Kwid with a 1.1-litre petrol engine. The French-based automobile manufacturer will also equip its Kwid with an optional AMT gearbox for driving convenience. Special editions are also expected in the form of Kwid Racer and Kwid Climber.

The Kwid currently competes with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, Datsun redi-GO, Hyundai Eon, and even Tata Nano. The Base variant of Renault Kwid is priced at Rs. 2.62 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). Currently, the Kwid has a waiting period of approximately three months in India.
