Renault Alaskan Pickup Truck Breaks Cover Before Official Debut
The Renault Alaskan pickup has broken cover before its official debut, which is to happen during the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The Renault Alaskan is based on the Nissan Navara NP300.
The Renault Alaskan is to go on sale in Columbia later this year.
In terms of design, the Alaskan features a typical SUV-ish bold front fascia, but with a modern touch. It has a prominent front grille with the Renault badge sitting right at the centre. The SUV gets sleek headlights that give the Alaskan a modern look.
The interior looks similar to the Nissan Navara, apart from the steering wheel. The higher end variants are expected to get an infotainment system with colour display and dual zone climate control.
As for the engine options, Renault could offer a 2.3-litre diesel engine in two power outputs - 158bhp and 187bhp. There is also a possibility that Renault could use a 2.5-litre diesel engine with the above mentioned power outputs.
There is also a petrol engine, a 2.5-litre unit that is capable enough to produce 158bhp. Renault will offer the Alaskan with a choice of either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic gearbox, with two or all-wheel drive configuration.
