remote
area
of
Kaza
in
Spiti.
The
event
is
a
week-long
competition
in
which
250
participants
are
taking
part.
The competition started on Sunday from Manali towards Lahaul-Spiti. According to officials, the competitors continued their drive on the narrow roads.
Suresh Rana and Ashwin Naik took an impressive 7 minutes lead time on the second day. They were followed by Lhakpa Tsering and Venu Ramesh Kumar. Among the two wheelers, day two was led by Abdul Wahid Tanveer, followed by R Natraj, with a gap of 3 minutes between them. Umang Saxena was in the third spot.
Raid De Himalaya is one of the two off-road motor rallies from India listed in the annual motorsport calendar of the Federation Internationale Automobile (FIA) and Federation Internationale De Motorcycles (FIM).
The event runs in compliance with the International Sporting Code of the FIA, National Competition Rules (NCR) and General Prescriptions of the FMSCI ( Federation of Motorsport Clubs of India).
The competition is organised to promote motor sporting events in the Himalayan regions of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand.
