According to a new report, Porsche is planning on making a smaller electric based on Mission E super sedan. In September 2015 at Frankfurt Motor Show, Porsche unveiled its Mission E, an all-electric performance sedan. Porsche has always been a forward-thinking company and they know really well what people want in future.
Oliver Blume, Porsche CEO says that the architecture behind the Mission E sedan is scalable. The electric sedan platform of Porsche can be made both shorter or longer. Thus, keeping the developing cost less and can make multiple vehicles using the same low floored platform to compete in different segments.
Undeniably the Mission E is an important car for Porsche. The powertrain of the car consists of two electric motors. The motors are powered by lithium ion batteries and are capable of producing 600bhp for the top model, which will be Model S. The smaller version of Mission E sedan will have less power when compared to Model S.
The adjustable platform of Porsche will become a great success for the company. The top model can compete with emerging super-luxury electric segment and the smaller version with Tesla Model 3 and BMW iNext.
