Porsche 911 R Images Leak Out Ahead Of Geneva Debut
Images of the Porsche 911R have been leaked online and show the car in all its glory. The 911 R is Porsche's way of paying homage to the 911 R from 1965.
The images leaked by Dutch website vierenzestig.nl show what is basically a 911 GT3RS without all the fancy aerodynamic bits. The only way to distinguish the 911 R from other models found further down the range are the red racing stripes.
The new 911 R is powered by the same 4.0-litre six cylinder engine found in the 911 GT3RS. The flat six naturally aspirated powerplant pushes out 493bhp with 458Nm of torque. The power and torque is sent to the rear wheels through a 7-speed manual transmission. There is no option for an automatic.
The Porsche 911 R will make its official debut on March 1 2016 at the Geneva Motor Show.
