Pirelli Officially Unveils 2017 Formula One Wider Tyre Range
Pirelli has officially unveiled its 2017 Formula One tyre range at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi. An all-new range of slick and wet wide tyres have been revealed for Formula One 2017.
For 2017, Formula One race machines will be undergoing tremendous change. Now, Pirelli has unveiled their all-new tyre range which will be adopted during 2017 season. The Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi was used as the venue to unveil the new wide F1 tyre range.
Five slick tyres, one wet tyre, and an intermediate tyre was showcased by Pirelli. The 2017 Formula One season will benefit by Pirelli's new wide tyre range. All tyres are expected to improve mechanical grip and will improve corner entry and exit speeds as well.
The front tyre was previously 245mm wide and for 2017 season it widens up to 305mm. Rear F1 Pirelli tyre is now 405mm wide, which was previously 325mm wide. Now change has been carried out on the wheel size, which continues to be a 13-inch diameter.
Pirelli will be conducting an official tyre test with all teams post 2016 Abu Dhabi GP. Unfortunately, the 2017 tyres will be put onto 2016 F1 race machines. The first time 2017 Pirelli tyres and F1 race machines will be united will be in February, FIA has also permitted in-season development of tyres.
