Pirelli Reveals Drivers Tyre Choices For F1 Australian Grand Prix
Formula One tyre manufacturer Pirelli has revealed the tyre choices made by individual driver for the 2016 F1 season opener, the Australian Grand Prix.
According to the new regulations for the 2016 season, Pirelli offers three choices of dry weather tyre for the race weekend, while the teams can choose the remaining 10 sets of tyres for the race weekend.
Pirelli on Tuesday revealed the choices made by the teams for the Australian Grand Prix through a tweet. The Australian Grand Prix kicks off a busy 20 race 2016 Formula One season in Melbourne on March 17.
Two time defending Drivers Champion Lewis Hamilton has opted for only one set of the hardest compound on offer, the white coloured mediums while taking six sets each of the soft and super-soft compound tyres on offer.
His Mercedes teammate and rival, Nico Rosberg has instead opted for an extra set of medium tyres and will use five sets of soft compound tyres and six sets of the super-soft compound tyres.
Rosberg's tyre choices seem to have been followed by most of the grid except for the Manor team which are using four sets of medium tyres along with four sets of softs and five sets of supersofts.
