Peugeot Plans To Enter India By 2018 With Local Partner
Peugeot plans on re-entering the Indian market soon, however, they have not been successful. Now the French-based manufacturer plans to find a partner for itself in India. Carlos Tavares, Chairman of PSA Peugeot Citroen, recently made the announcement.
The goal is to announce a local partner in India by the year 2018. Peugeot will then work on developing their models for the Indian market. The French-based models from the manufacturer will be launched in India by 2021.
By announcing that Peugeot is looking for a local partner means that they are planning on local manufacturing. They could setup their very own manufacturing unit or partner with an existing automobile manufacturer in the country.
Rumours are doing the rounds, that Peugeot could partner with Tata Motors. The partnership will help them to commence its Indian operation soon. Peugeot would like to introduce its products in the Indian market as soon as possible as it is the fastest growing market in the world.
Peugeot has set itself a goal of entering several new markets. Their goal is to enter the India-Pacific region, which consists of Australia, South Korea, Japan, India, New Zealand, and SAARC countries. Stay tuned for more updates from Peugeot and its upcoming plans for India.
