B K Imthiyaz, the Dakshina Kannada District Online Taxi Drivers and Owners Association President said, "We are being threatened and harassed at Mangalore Central railway station and Mangalore airport premises. Even police have not followed up on our complaint in this regard. We will have to go ahead with protests if such harassment continue."
"Attacking taxi drivers and owners citing aggregators' fault is not acceptable. Taxi owners, who serve for Ola and Uber, are working as per law by paying service tax and TDS."
He also added that the association would oppose the unnecessary intervention of certain sections in the functioning of online taxi service.
