Ola Share Fares Get A Massive Cut — Who Would Want To Take An Auto Now?
App-based taxi-aggregator Ola has slashed the fares for its 'Share' service by up to 45 percent across 7 cities where 'Share' is available.
The highest reduction in fares has been done in the cities of Mumbai and Bangalore, where the 'Share' fare has been revised to about Rs. 3/km.
Ola's Share service is also available in Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Pune where the prices are also expected to hover around Rs. 3/km.
In addition to the revised fares, Ola has also expanded the 'Share' service to three more cities: Chandigarh, Jaipur and Ahmedabad, which means that the 'Share' is now available in a total of 10 cities across India.
In a statement, Ola CMO and Head of Categories Raghuvesh Sarup said, "Shared mobility is one of the key focus areas for Ola as it enables far reaching benefits like reduced pollution and congestion-free roads. We are constantly working to upgrade this experience for users as well as the driver-partners."
He added that use of technology to optimize same route sharing has ensured that a majority of its rides are fully occupied and on-route deviation time is minimal.
Sarup stated that "This helps Ola Share in becoming the most eco-friendly and pocket friendly ride...With immense demand for the service and improved matching rate, we have been able to bring down fares to as low as Rs. 3/km."
