Ola Ties Up With Apple, Launches 'Ola Play' Service
Ola's latest bid to lure customers is a connected car platform which allows users to stream video and audio content while inside the cab.
Online cab service Ola has launched launched 'Ola Play', a connected car platform for ridesharing which allows users to stream music and video while on the go in a Ola cab.
To help with the audio and video content for Ola Play, Ola has teamed up with tech giant Apple's ‘Apple Music' service for audio streaming and Sony LIV for videos. Ola has also teamed up with comedy group ‘All India Bakchod' for content.
In addition to this, Ola has also teamed up with startups AudioCompass and Fynd for audio tours and online shopping, respectively.
Ola Play allows users to take control of the in-car experience away from the Driver Console and into their own devices, once a ride begins.
Ola Play will make use of customer preferences and current ride information like time and destination to offer personalised recommendations for content t view or listen to during the ride.
Customers will be able to experience Ola Play from their own devices or from large display devices that will be mounted in the car and connected to the vehicle's sound systems.
Ola Play will be made available to customers who use Ola Prime in Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi are subscribed to Ola's ‘Select' service.
Ola Play will be available on more than 50,000 Prime category vehicles by March 2017.
