Nissan X-Trail India Launch Delayed
Japanese carmaker Nissan is delaying the launch of its new X-Trail SUV and has now scheduled it for early 2017.
The delay is the second time that Nissan has delayed the launch of the new X-Trail in India. The original launch of the SUV was scheduled for the festive period last year.
The X-Trail will be launched in hybrid form and it is this same hybrid powertrain that is apparently the cause of the delay in the launch.
Nissan engineers are worried how the hybrid system will perform in extreme Indian conditions and are testing it further to ensure it works properly.
The X-Trail was the first Nissan vehicle to enter India when it was first launched in 2004. However, due to low demand for the SUV, Nissan discontinued the X-Trail in India in 2014.
