Nissan India showcased its X-Trail hybrid premium SUV at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. The Japanese-based automobile maker earlier had promised to launch its hybrid SUV in India during 2016-end. Now, however, the X-Trail hybrid is confirmed to launch in India during early 2017.
This information was confirmed by Guillaume Sicard, Nissan India President. An official announcement regarding X-Trail hybrid launch was made during the launch of the all-new GT-R in India. Nissan X-Trail hybrid will be introduced as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) model.
Under the hood of Nissan X-Trail hybrid is a 2.0-litre petrol engine. It is coupled with an electric 32Kw electric motor. The hybrid SUV will sport a front-wheel drive system with an innovative two clutch parallel hybrid system.
It seems like Nissan India is shifting its focus to more premium products. The Nissan brand will evolve in the Indian market. Datsun products will continue to sell in India as their affordable offerings to attract high volume sales.
