NISMO Takes The 2017 Nissan GT-R To The Next Level
Nissan Motor Co. has announced the launch of the 2017 Nissan GT-R NISMO. Nissan also began selling the "Track edition engineered by NISMO," which was unveiled last month.
The Nissan GT-R NISMO will feature an exclusive styling that follows the racing philosophy of form following function. The car will be equipped with motorsports-inspired tech to improve the performance, including active aerodynamics and a special suspension and powertrain, creating a machine that's a "Godzilla" on both the streets and track.
The GT-R NISMO front end features a new carbon fiber bumper and the canards have been re-designed for enhanced aerodynamics. And, to cool the high-output engine, the enlarged "V-motion" grille, and the new mesh pattern provides a better engine cooling.
Overall, the car now generates more downforce than any other Nissan produced to date.
The new NISMO GT-R features a special Bilstein DampTronic suspension system - which utilizes multiple vehicle information to provide high levels of controllability for a variety of driving situations.
The "VR38DETT," the GT-R NISMO's engine, now produces a remarkable 592bhp. Mated to a 6-speed twin-clutch gearbox, the new NISMO GT-R gets a large diameter turbochargers used in GT3 competition.
The "Track Edition engineered by NISMO" is a special edition of the car, designed as a fusion of NISSAN GT-R NISMO's structure and suspension, with the specifications and form of the GT-R standard model.
