India-Bound Nissan Kicks Showcased At The 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show
India-bound crossover model, the Kicks was showcased at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show in Brazil.
Nissan is speculating on adding a crossover model to its Indian product portfolio. The model in question is the Kicks which was showcased at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show.
The Nissan Kicks was officially revealed back in 2014 as a concept vehicle. The Kicks was given the green signal for production in January 2016.
Initially, the Kicks crossover has been launched in Latin America and will be launched in other markets too including India. So what does the Nissan Kicks has in store for the Indian customers? To know more about it, read on.
The Nissan Kicks is a compact crossover model. The exterior design is more fluid than the Terrano SUV. It sports a dropping roofline and rising shoulder to make it more appealing as a crossover.
It also features muscular wheel arches, roof rails and body cladding for an SUV feel. Nissan states that Kicks will have best in class space for passengers and luggage. With the wheelbase of 2,610mm which is 20mm more than the Hyundai Creta will be a tough competitor in the Indian market.
Although the Kicks does not boast an exceptional array of features it is a decent package for a compact crossover. It features seven-inch infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, part digital instrument cluster and automatic climate control.
The dashboard gets an attractive dual-tone design and upholstery inserts. To make life easier Kicks will come with four external cameras onboard to assist in parking and manoeuvring the vehicle.
The Latin American spec Kicks will be powered by 1.6-litre flex-fuel engine which can run on both petrol and ethanol fuel.
Whereas the Indian variant of the Kicks is expected to be powered by 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine which is also used in the Terrano. The international-spec Kicks comes with five-speed manual gearbox and CVT automatic transmission.
