Nissan Kicks Compact SUV Production Begins In Mexico — India Launch On The Cards
Production of the Nissan Kicks (compact SUV) has commenced, and it will be produced at Nissan's Aguascalientes A1 facility. Initially, Nissan will be introducing the Kicks in the Latin American market, which will be followed by the India launch.
Nissan is keen on introducing the Kicks in over 80 markets. As of now, it is unclear if Nissan will locally assemble the Kicks or import it from Mexico.
Under the hood of the Nissan Kicks will be a 1.6-litre flex-fuel engine. This engine is likely to produce 114bhp, along with 152Nm of peak torque. Nissan will mate the Kicks engine to an X-tronic CVT gearbox. The Kicks will be built on Nissan's CMF-B platform.
At the recently held Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro, Nissan was announced as the official transport and mobility partner for the games. The Kicks was also showcased at strategic venues for fans to touch-and-feel.
