Nissan India To Hike Entire Model Range Pricing For 2016
Nissan India is soon to increase the price of all their models sold in the country. The price hike will be announced owing to the Union Budget of 2016-2017 that was recently revealed. So far, an official date is not revealed as to when the new prices will be applicable from.
The Datsun models sold in the country will also witness a hike in pricing soon. The price hike is expected to be within the range of one percent, which would not affect buyers a lot. Currently, Datsun India has two products on offer, the Go hatchback and the Go+ compact station wagon.
Currently, Nissan offers the Micra, Sunny, Terrano, and Evalia models in the Indian market. Pricing is expected to increase from one to three and a half percent across all models. It is most likely that the smaller vehicles will witness a smaller hike and so on.
Recently, several automobile manufacturers announced a price hike in India owing to the 2016-2017 Union Budget. Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, and even Mercedes-Benz have announced hike in price. Major reason for the price hike is the Infrastructure Cess introduced in the Union Budget.
A luxury tax is also applicable to models that are priced over Rs. 10 lakh. The Indian Government will collect one percent of the overall cost of the vehicle. Several other taxes will also be applied to all vehicles owing to an increase in pricing which will be eventually passed on to the buyer.
