New Toyota Innova To Be Called Crysta In Indian Market

Toyota Motors India will be bringing its all-new MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) to Indian shores. The new Innova is launched in a couple of markets and will be making its Indian debut at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Japanese-based manufacturer will place the new Innova at a premium position.

The 2016 Innova is most likely to be called as the 'Crysta', creating a slight difference. There seems to be a high possibility that Toyota India could offer new as well as existing versions of the Innova. The Crysta will be the new and premium version while those who prefer current-gen Innova could still opt for it.

Powering the Innova Crysta will be a new 2.4-litre diesel engine. Toyota engineers have tuned the engine to produce 147bhp and 342.25Nm of torque. The 2016 Innova Crysta engine will be mated to an optional 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The exterior of the Innova Crysta is not expected to change dramatically. Major changes are expected to take place within the cabin with maximum creature comforts by Toyota. The Japanese manufacturer is expected to provide a more elegant feel to its 2016 Innova MPV.

We believe Toyota will price its 2016 Innova Crysta at a premium. The current generation of Innova is priced between Rs. 10.48 lakh to Rs. 16.01 lakh ex-showroom (Mumbai). Expect the Innova Crysta to be a popular product even with a premium price tag.
