New Suzuki Swift Sport To Go Turbo In 2017
The new 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport due to be launched in the UK next is the next generation hatchback from Suzuki. The current generation Suzuki Swift Sport is powered by a naturally aspirated 1.6-litre engine.
Suzuki will do away with the 1.6-litre engine and equip with a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which is seen in the Vitara S-Turbo, this engine produces 138bhp and 220Nm of torque. Also, expected is a lighter Swift Sport compared to the current generation car. This spec of the Suzuki Swift Sport is confirmed, however, it will kick in more power the Swift Sport.
As for India, the Maruti Swift is closer in the heels of the facelift and the new generation is expected to hit the road sometime next year. In all likely, the Maruti Swift will be powered by the 1.0-litre booster jet engine and lighter in the weight, probably less than 1000kgs.
Digital renders of the expected Swift 2017 is doing the rounds online and by the looks of it, not much has been changed, however, the front profile sports a longer snout and the floating roof effect, which is seen in the Vitara Brezza.
Inside too, the dashboard is simple and sportier, the AC vents are round and red trims on the dashboard and centre console.
In India, the Maruti Swift is one of the best sellers and will continue to dominate in the hatchback segment and this new Swift will emphasize the leader in the hatchback segment. The 2017 Swift will go on to compete with Hyundai Grand i10, Ford Figo, and Mahindra KUV100.
