New Maruti Suzuki Wagon R Most Likely To Launch By 2017
Maruti Suzuki is the best-selling automobile brand in the Indian market. A majority of the company's products are overwhelmingly appreciated by Indian customers. The Wagon R is another product from Maruti Suzuki that has witnessed exceptional sales from the beginning.
Now, Maruti Suzuki plans on updating its Wagon R for the Indian market by 2017. An all-new Wagon R could see its introduction into the country sometime during 2017-end. This would be Wagon R's third iteration for the Indian market since its initial launch in 1999.
Overall, the Wagon R will maintain its tall boy stance, which it was uniquely popular for. Maruti Suzuki would be redesigning bumpers, headlight, tail lamps, and other elements that will help enhance the personality of the 2017 Wagon R.
Under the hood, Maruti Suzuki is not expected to make any major changes. It is most likely to retain current 1.0-litre K-series petrol engine. This engine will produce 67bhp, along with 91Nm of torque, and will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox with an optional AMT gearbox.
The new Maruti Suzuki Wagon R will be priced extremely competitive. Expect the hatchback to bear a base price of Rs. 4 lakh ex-showroom onwards. The 2017 Wagon R will compete with the likes of Datsun Go, Chevrolet Beat, and Hyundai i10 models in India.
