Hyundai i10 Hatchback To Be Replaced By Santro In India By 2018
In 2018, Hyundai India is most likely to replace the i10 hatchback with an all-new Santro model. Hyundai Motors India will power all-new Santro with a 1.0-litre petrol engine.
Hyundai i10 hatchback has been on sale in the Indian market for a while now. The Korean-based automobile giant now plans on resurrecting the Santro brand name. i10 hatchback by Hyundai could most likely be replaced by Santro in the near future.
An all-new Hyundai Santro can be expected by 2018, for the Indian market. Hyundai Motors wants an affordable hatchback offering within its portfolio. The i10 name tag will not be revived, rather Hyundai will use it to exclusively for their Grand i10 hatchback.
2018 Santro hatchback by Hyundai is likely to be powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine. This engine would be mated to an optional manual and an AMT gearbox. Hyundai's new Santro will compete head on with Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Wagon R, and Renault Kwid models.
In terms of design, Hyundai India will not adopt the previous tall boy design of Santro. The all-new Santro hatchback for 2018 could receive their Fluidic 2.0 design language. So far, all we know is that Hyundai has started work on its new Santro, however, its platform is unconfirmed.
Pricing will be key to new Hyundai Santro hatchbacks success. Hyundai Motors has set a goal for itself, that by 2020 they will achieve one million overall sales. Small and affordable hatchback offering in the form of new Santro will help attain this monumental goal.
