Mitsubishi Unveils The XM Concept; Could Launch In India
Mitsubishi Motors has been teasing images of its upcoming MPV model. Now, the Japanese-based manufacturer has shared official images of the XM Concept. The 'X' in XM stands for Crossover, while the 'M' stands for MPV or Multi Purpose Vehicle.
Global debut of Mitsubishi XM Concept is scheduled for the upcoming 2016 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. The XM Concept will be available in Indonesian market by October 2017. Once launched the Mitsubishi XM MPV will compete against the Honda BR-V.
Interior design has not been shared so far by Mitsubishi Motors. The XM Concept is most likely to adorn a premium interior over its competitors. Mitsubishi will offer the production XM MPV in a 7-seater configuration for maximum occupancy.
No details on the engine options have been divulged by Mitsubishi officials. The XM MPV is most likely to be equipped with both petrol and diesel engine options. Mitsubishi will also be offering a manual as well as automatic transmission option to its customers.
The MPV market in India is decent and Mitsubishi could introduce the XM in the country as well. Mitsubishi XM MPV could provide the company with mass sales in India, which has been missing. In India, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Honda BR-V, and Mahindra XYLO models compete in the MPV segment.
