Mitsubishi Outlander Imported To India For Homologation — Launch Imminent?
Mitsubishi importing its SUV Outlander only raises the level of curiosity of a launch in India
Mitsubishi has imported its SUV Outlander to India for certification, this has raised the level of curiosity if the SUV will be launched in India in the near future.
As per Zauba records, it reveals that two units of the GLX 4WD versions have been imported to India on October 22, 2016. This points out that the Mitsubishi must be considering to launch it in India.
The GLX variant of the Mitsubishi Outlander is featured either with a 2.0-litre or the option of a2.4-litre engine. While the 2.0-litre is a 2WD, the 2.4-litre model is offered with the 4WD.
Both the engines are paired with a CVT gearbox, the 2.0-litre is featured with a 5-seater layout and the 2.4-litre which has been imported to India is a 7-seater layout and the 5-seater as well.
The 2.0-litre mill churns out 144bhp of power and 196Nm of torque. The more powerful and 4WD 2.4-litre mill produces 165bhp and 222Nm of torque.
The CVT gearbox is ably supported by paddle shifts and features cruise control as well. The 4WD is supported electronically.
On the safety front, the Mitsubishi Outlander comes equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Mitigation System (FCM), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and is packed with 7 SRS airbags.
Apart from these, it is equipped with ABS with EBD and Active Stability Control (ASC). On the entertainment side, the Outlander features a 6.1-inch touch screen audio system which can display parking camera.
The music system is equipped with 7-speakers branded by Rockford Fosgate premium sound system.
The SUV from Mitsubishi can sprint from 0-100km/h in 10.2 seconds before it hits a top speed of 198km/h.
