Mitsubishi Montero Launched In India, Prices Start At Rs. 67.88 Lakh
Mistubishi Motors has relaunched the Montero SUV in India with deliveries set to start next month.
Japanese carmaker Mitsubishi has launched the Montero once again in India after discontinuing the SUV's sales in India in 2014. The Montero is priced at Rs. 67.88 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi) and deliveries will start in December.
Mitsubishi Montero Price List
- Delhi - Rs. 67.88 lakh
- Mumbai - Rs. 71.06 lakh
The Mitsubishi Montero is powered by a 3.2-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 189bhp and 441 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox.
True to its off-roading heritage, the Montero comes with four driving modes - 2-Wheel-Drive High (2H), 4-Wheel-Drive High (4H), 4-Wheel-Drive High with locked center differential (4HLc), and 4-Wheel-Drive low with locked center differential (4LLc). All modes can be changed on the go, except for the 4LLc mode.
The new Montero has seen a few design tweaks to help differentiate it from the Montero sold before in India. The revised headlamps have an auto high-beam function which is operated by a camera, the bumpers feature the new LED daytime running lights and there is now a silver bashplate under the revised bumper.
On the sides, the Montero is as muscular as ever and the ORVMs now feature indicators. The Montero sits on 18-inch alloy wheels.
The rear end of the SUV also has a new silver bashplate along with a new rear fog lamp for night driving.
Inside, the Montero gets dual tone interiors a panoramic sunroof, an infotainment system with bluetooth connectivity and a 860-watt, 12-speaker Rockford entertainment system.
The new Montero includes a whole host of safety features including the dual front airbags, side and curtain airbags along with ABS with EBD and traction control with brake assist.
The Mitsubishi Montero will be sold in India via the CBU route which results in the new pricing. The new pricing means the new SUV will compete with the likes of the Audi Q7 and the Volvo XC90 in India.
