Mitsubishi Cedia Recalled In India For Airbag Issue
Mitsubishi Cedia is being recalled in India for an issue with the airbags. The issue lies in the passenger side airbag of the sedan. Cedia models that were manufactured during 2006 to 2008 could have a faulty airbag inflator attached in the passenger side.
Approximately 2,400 Mitsubishi Cedia models were sold during 2006 to 2008 in India. Mitsubishi India will be recalling all Cedia's sold in the country in a phased manner. From January 25, 2016, onwards replacement of the faulty part will be carried out.
Owners of Mitsubishi Cedia are being requested to contact their dealership to check if their vehicle needs the airbag inflator replaced or not. Customers can also send an e-mail to [email protected] with the chassis number of the vehicle for replacement verification.
Takata airbags have been the cause for Mitsubishi recalling its Cedia. Several other manufacturers have also recalled their vehicles owing to similar issues with the airbags fixed in their vehicles. Mitsubishi vehicles in India and internationally are being recalled due to Takata airbags.
