Mini Cooper will be launching their very first 2016 model for the Indian market on March 16, 2016. BMW India will be introducing the Mini Cooper Convertible in the country. The model will be imported to the country as a CBU (Completely Built Unit).
On offer to Indian customers will be a petrol 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine, which produces 133.9bhp. Also, on offer will be an optional 1.5-litre three-cylinder diesel engine producing 115.9bhp. Both engines under the hood of the 2016 Mini Cooper Convertible will be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The Mini Cooper Convertible is equipped with a soft top roof, which is based on their 3-door model. Engineers claim that the roof can completely retract within a matter of 18 seconds. Vehicle owners can retract the roof even as they are driving under 30 km/h.
In terms of design, the 2016 Mini Cooper Convertible will be identical to the regular 3-door model. The Convertible model will only be differentiated by its soft-top retractable roof. As always the Mini Cooper Convertible will be equipped with several passenger safety features.
Since the Mini Cooper Convertible will be a CBU model pricing will be exuberant. We expect the 2016 Cooper Convertible to bear a price tag of approximately Rs. 34 lakh to Rs. 38 lakh ex-showroom. At this moment, the Mini Cooper Convertible will have no competitors in India.
